Korean football prospect Lee Seung-woo said on Tuesday he will work hard to play with the first team of FC Barcelona in two or three years.
The 17-year-old forward was playing for FC Barcelona Juvenil A, the under-19 team of the Spanish football giant, but his agency, Team Twelve, said on Monday that Lee has now been promoted to FC Barcelona B, the reserve team where senior players are playing.
“I appreciate the club acknowledging my talent,” Lee said on Tuesday at the Incheon International Airport before departing to Spain today.
FC Barcelona B is currently in the Segunda Division B, the third level of the Spanish football league system. Top stars like Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta played in FC Barcelona B before becoming regulars on Barcelona’s first team.
