Jackson of boy band GOT7 signs with Sublime Artist Agency

Jackson of boy band GOT7, whose contract with JYP Entertainment came to an end Tuesday, penned a new contract with with Sublime Artist Agency on Wednesday.

Following rumors of their impending deal, Sublime Artist Agency clarified Wednesday that it had been “discussing a business agreement with Team Wang, the record label founded and run by Jackson, rather than an exclusive contract with Jackson.”

Artists currently managed by Sublime Artist Agency include actor Song Kang-ho, and singers Rain and EXID’s Hani.

While GOT7 has not officially announced its disbandment, expectations are that the boy band will cease its activities since its contract with JYP Entertainment has expired.

Members posted a handwritten letter on Jan. 19 addressed to their fan club Ahgase. Each member wrote several sentences, saying how sorry they were to be parting ways without renewing their contract with JYP Entertainment and that though they are going their separate ways, “we cheer on each other’s futures.”

“All of us want to continue making music for Ahgase, share it together, and continue spending time together in the future,” the letter continued.

GOT7 made a debut as a seven-member boy band in 2014 with EP “Got it?”

According to reports, Jinyoung is in talks to sign a contract with BH Entertainment, Yugyeom with AOMG, and BamBam with MakeUs Entertainment. None of the agencies have confirmed these reports.
