K-pop boy band BTS and girl group Blackpink have been nominated for prizes at the 2021 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, the American TV channel announced on Thursday.

BTS was nominated in three categories: Favorite Music Group, Favorite Global Music Star and Favorite Song for its smash hit “Dynamite." Blackpink garnered nominations for Favorite Music Group and Favorite Music Collaboration for its song “Ice Cream” featuring American singer Selena Gomez.

BTS previously won Favorite Global Music Star in 2018 and Favorite Music Group in 2020.

The two K-pop acts will compete against pop stars such as the Black Eyed Peas, the Jonas Brothers, Maroon 5 and One Republic.

The award ceremony is set for March 13 and will be held virtually for the second year in a row due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards was first held in 1988 by Nickelodeon, a cable channel which specializes in entertainment for children.
