A social-media mob has descended upon Justice Party Rep. Ryu Ho-jeong, 28, after she published posts in support of a bill she is drafting that would liberalize tattooing.

정의당 의원 류호정(28세)이 문신 합법화 법안에 대해 동의를 구하는 글을 SNS에 올린 후 온라인 군중의 호된 뭇매를 맞았다.

Tattoos are not illegal in Korea, but tattooing must be done by a medical professional, greatly limiting the availability of relevant services.

relevant: 관련한, 연관된

한국에서 문신은 불법이 아니지만 의료전문가에 의한 문신만이 합법적이기 때문에 관련 서비스의 접근성이 크게 제한된다.

Displaying a tattoo is also allowed under the law, although Korea Communications Commissions has set a standard to blur them on shows and artists appearing on television will often cover them with tape.

문신을 보이는 것도 합법이지만 방송통신위원회는 방송프로그램에서 문신을 지우는 기준을 세웠기 때문에 연예인들은 문신을 가리기 위해 종종 반창고를 붙이고 나오곤 한다.

류 의원은 “BTS의 몸에서 반창고를 떼라”며 글을 올렸다. 이 글과 함께 BTS 멤버 정국이 자신의 문신을 가리기 위해서 팔과 손에 반창고를 붙이고 있는 사진을 올렸다.

"Have you ever seen tape on your favorite celebrity's body? This is a hideous sight, which is often seen on Korean television as it is the rules of the broadcasters not to expose tattoos."
