Blackpink set to become YG's third act to join Weverse
The queens of K-pop are set to join the fan community platform Weverse on Aug. 2.
Blackpink will become the third YG act to join Weverse, following boy bands Treasure and iKON.
The decision follows the partnership made last January between YG Entertainment, Blackpink’s agency, and Hybe, the entertainment company that created Weverse. Part of the deal includes YG putting more of its artists on the platform to expand their global marketing while having its subsidiary YG Plus carry out the music distribution of Hybe’s artists, like BTS.
As YouTube's most-subscribed to female artists and with 22.8 million followers on global streaming service Spotify, a huge number of fans are expected to follow the group to Weverse next month.
