‘Black Widow’ sells most tickets this year
Marvel’s “Black Widow” broke the box office record for this year.
According to Walt Disney Company Korea Thursday, the film has sold 2.3 million tickets in 16 days, beating Hollywood action blockbuster “Fast & Furious 9,” which sold 2.28 million since its release in May.
“Black Widow” is the first movie in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and it’s the first solo movie for character Natasha Romanoff, played by Scarlett Johansson, who first appeared as an Avenger in “Iron Man 2” (2010).
In September, Marvel is expected to release “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” which is MCU’s first Asian superhero movie, and two months later “The Eternals” starring Angelina Jolie and Ma Dong-seok.
