Leading K-pop agency SM Entertainment launched a new membership service for its fans in the form of digital passports, the agency said Monday.

Music Nation SM Town Meta-Passport is a renewed version of its previous Music Nation SM Town Passport, which was a membership program that gave out points and special benefits when its members attended SM artists’ events.

The passport has been refashioned to function in the agency’s virtual world called “Music Nation SM Town.”

Through the digital passport, its members, also called citizens of Music Nation SM Town, can enjoy benefits when they attend the SM artists’ virtual events.

The exact benefits of the new membership program have not yet been specified by the company.

The most recent event held in the company’s virtual world was its year-end concert “SMTOWN Live 2022: SMCU Express@Kwangya” on Saturday.

“[The digital passport] connects the physical world to the digital world and transparently records all information,” said a staff member from SM Entertainment.

“We hope that this can give new joy and benefits to SM fans around the globe.”

Music Nation SM Town Meta-Passport is available on SM Town & Store’s official website, www.SMTOWNandSTORE.com. The deadline to apply for the passport membership is 11: 59 p.m. on Jan. 31
