Actor Song Seung-heon joined the cast of Netflix Korea’s original series “Delivery Knight” as a villain.

Netflix Korea announced Thursday that it has cast Song as Ryu Seok, the sole successor of a powerful conglomerate called Chunmyeong Group.

“Delivery Knight” takes place in 2071 where humanity can’t survive without wearing oxygen masks due to severe pollution. The Korean Peninsula is depicted as a wasteland where only one percent of the population has survived. In this disastrous situation, delivery workers’ roles are lauded as they are critical for the delivery of oxygen tanks so people can survive.

Chunmyeong Group takes advantage of the situation by monopolizing the provision of oxygen.

The story is based on a webtoon of the same name and has cast Kim Woo-bin, Lee Som and Kang Yoo-seok as lead roles. Kim will portray the legendary delivery man identified as “5-8.” A survivor named Sa-wol, who dreams of becoming a delivery worker, will be played by Kang. Lee will play a military officer named So-ryung, who looks after Sa-wol’s family.

Song debuted in the entertainment industry as a model for a local clothing brand Storm in 1995 and debuted as an actor through MBC sitcom “Three Men, Three Women” in 1996. His hits include KBS drama series “Autumn in My Heart” (2000) and MBC drama series “East of Eden” (2008-09).
