Boy band Tomorrow X Together (TXT) proved itself to be a hero, according to NME on Wednesday.

The band won Hero Of The Year ahead of the BandLab NME Awards 2022, an annual music awards show in Britain which was founded by NME. Hero Of The Year is a fan-voted category.

“Fans voted [...] with K-pop sensation Tomorrow X Together receiving over 40 percent of the total for Hero Of The Year,” NME said in its article. “This follows on from the success of their acclaimed third album ‘The Chaos Chapter: Freeze’, their five-star live show, and their single ‘0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You)’ (feat. Seori) coming in at Number 8 in NME’s 25 Best K-Pop songs of 2021, as compiled by NME Asia.”

Previous winners of this category include Ariana Grande in 2018, Beyoncé in 2017 and Lady Gaga in 2011.

TXT debuted in 2019 with the song “Crown” and has five members: Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun and Huening Kai. The band’s latest album was “The Chaos Chapter: Fight or Escape,” which was released in August with the lead song “LO$ER=LO♡ER” (pronounced “loser lover”).
