Boy band Seventeen has earned praise from foreign news platforms NME and Elite Daily for its achievements in 2021.

The boy band had exclusive interviews with both outlets.

“For Seventeen, 2021 was all about growth and continuing to forge ahead as musicians,” NME said in its article titled “Seventeen look back on their ‘unforgettable’ 2021: ‘It made us reflect upon how we’ve been taking things for granted.’’”

NME acknowledged that Seventeen’s “Power of Love,” the band’s sixth Japanese EP released in early December, was a result of the “single ambition shared by all 13 members” and this “set the stage for a new era of transformation through two [EPs], a couple of solo endeavors and brand-new unit projects.”

Elite Daily said in its article titled “Seventeen Promises New Music and Epic Surprises in 2022” that Seventeen “has made each year more impactful than the last” as it became the first-ever K-pop act to be named MTV’s Push Artist in December last year.

“Following the success of their ‘Your Choice’ and ‘Attacca’ EPs in 2021, they were also the first group overall that year to earn two No. 1s on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart,” the article reads.

Seventeen debuted as a 13-member band in 2015 and is known for hits such as “Adore U” (2015), “Don't Wanna Cry” (2017) and “Ready to Love” (2021).
