Dr. Michael Morbius (played by Jared Leto) suffers from a rare blood disease and focuses on finding a cure for himself with his fiancée and fellow scientist Martine Bancroft (played by Adria Arjona).
 
He succeeds and gains superhuman abilities, but at the cost of turning him into a vampire as his cure was derived from his studies with vampire bats. In other words, he will always live a life with a thirst for blood. While Morbius struggles between moral implications and his newfound craving for blood, his surrogate brother Milo (played by Matt Smith), who suffers from the same disease as him, gains the same power as Morbius but he does not face the same internal struggles that Morbius did when he obtained his power.
 
The film is based on the character of Morbius, the Living Vampire, from the Marvel Comics. It is the third film in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe.

Hee-soo, a 40-year-old mobster and a second-in-command to his boss Son, has been running a small port located in the southeastern port city of Busan. Having worked under Son for years, Hee-soo grows restless that he has been unable to achieve any of his big ambitions — wealth and power.
 
Set in the year 1993 following President Roh Tae-woo’s declaration of a crackdown on organized crime, other mobs begin scouring the city area for a new region to dominate, and Hee-soo, as he attempts to break free from his mob, is drawn into their scheme.
 
The film is novelist-turned-director Cheon Myeong-kwan’s debut film adapted from the 2016 novel of the same title written by Kim Eon-soo. Actors Jung Woo, Kim Gap-soo, Choi Mu-sung, Ji Seung-hyun and Lee Hong-nae are featured in the film.

Hak-sung is a genius mathematician who defected to South Korea for the freedom of knowledge. He hides his status and story, working in the shadows as a security guard at an elite private school.
 
With a gruff demeanor and an emotionless face, students generally avoid him, but his peace is disturbed by a high school student named Ji-woo who is on the brink of giving up on mathematics altogether. Ji-woo discovers Hak-sung’s identity and begins to pester him to teach him the subject, to which Hak-sung reluctantly agrees. As Hak-sung teaches Ji-woo that the key to mathematics is not about finding the answer, but the process behind it, an unlikely friendship blossoms between the two as well.
 
Actors Choi Min-sik and Kim Dong-hwi take on the roles of Hak-sung and Ji-woo.
