Choa’s new single will be titled “Yesterday,” her agency Great M Entertainment said Monday.

The agency posted the cover image of “Yesterday” on its social media accounts while also notifying that it will reveal two teaser videos and a vlog on Choa’s official YouTube channel ahead of the singer’s comeback.

“Yesterday” drops April 9.

Choa, whose real name is Park Cho-a, debuted as a member of AOA in 2012 with the song “Elvis.” The group originally had eight members, but currently has only three: Hyejeong, Seolhyun and Chanmi.

Choa left AOA in 2017 due to mental health issues. When she departed, AOA was at its peak with songs “Miniskirt” (2014), “Like a Cat” (2014) and “Heart Attack” (2015).

Another former member, Kwon Min-a, claimed in July 2020 that she had been constantly bullied by the group’s leader Jimin, leading her to leave the group. After AOA became embroiled in the controversy, Jimin also left the group.

Choa has been releasing music as a solo singer since 2020 by collaborating with other artists, like hip-hop producer Primary for the song “Cloud” (2020) and singer Jang Hyun-seung (ex-member of boy band Beast) for the song “Hush” (2022). She also sung the soundtrack for various television shows, including KBS’s “Men are Men” (2020) and KakaoTV’s “Lovestruck in the City” (2020-21).
