TMON clambers onto dawn delivery bandwagon

E-commerce company TMON entered the dawn delivery market, focusing on food products.
The company announced Wednesday it will offer dawn delivery for select grocery and food products including bottled water, beef, and salads.
Orders made before 4 p.m. will be delivered on customers' doorsteps before 7 a.m. the next day. The service is only available in Seoul, Gyeonggi and a few parts of Incheon.
The service follows a partnership with logistics start-up Team Fresh in March. Team Fresh will use its cold chain logistics centers for TMON deliveries, as it does for other companies including Oasis Market, salad maker Sweet Balance and beef retailer Jeongyookgak. The logistics centers allow the delivery of temperature-sensitive food products by using temperature control systems.
TMON said it plans to gradually add an additional 200 varieties of frozen and refrigerated foods to its dawn delivery offerings.
"We plan to increase the number of available products based on customer demand, becoming a convenient service loved by our users," said Park Sung-ho, head of TMON's affiliate strategy department.
Coupang and Market Kurly are the prominent players in the dawn delivery market, but other companies have started offering the service. G Market and Auction partnered with logistics company Mesh Korea to offer dawn delivery in Seoul neighborhoods since March. Naver Shopping has also been offering the service for its grocery deliveries since March.
