Big Bang’s T.O.P posted a farewell letter on his Instagram on Tuesday, the same day the boy band dropped its first new single “Still Life” in nearly four years.

“Finally the music is out. I wouldn’t be here without all of YG staff’s help. Thank you all for last 16 years. It means a lot to me. I’m thinking I might be going through another important turning point in my life at the moment,” T.O.P, whose real name is Choi Seung-hyun, wrote, signaling his departure from the band and a new beginning.

“I look forward to the day when I’ll be able to come back as a man of inspiration in the near future. I’m utmost grateful for my fans.”

Early this year, T.O.P decided not to renew his contract with YG Entertainment but said he’ll remain in the band to take part in producing the new release.

Meanwhile, T.O.P’s farewell letter has fueled fans’ speculation that Big Bang is going to disband. Many fans are sharing their thoughts online that the music video of “Still Life” foreshadows the band’s disbandment, insisting that all four members appear separately and never together in the music video and T.O.P appears in outer space.
