The People Power Party wants to revise a law protecting lawmakers from being arrested while the National Assembly is in session. PPP floor leader Kweon Seong-dong wrote on Facebook, “I, as PPP floor leader, will propose a bill to restrict lawmakers’ privilege of immunity from arrest.” Kweon added that former Democratic Party presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung is running in a by-election to enjoy that privilege.
