K-pop boy band TO1 to halt activities until further notice

Boy band TO1 will halt its activities for a while, its label Wake One Entertainment announced Tuesday.

The label released an official statement saying that TO1 will “take some time off and reorganize the band,” adding the band will halt its activities as of May 24.

Until further notice, the label said TO1’s fan cafe activities and social media channels such as Twitter and Bubble will be temporarily suspended.

“TO1 members will dedicate this time toward recharging and preparing to come back to its fans with a fresh new start and a new release, so we ask for your understanding of our decision,” the statement reads.

“As for member Jaeyun, he will continue his activities as a regular host of Arirang TV’s 'After School Club.'”

The decision comes after one of the group's members, Chihoon, suddenly departed from the group on April 30. The label suddenly dropped the news saying that “Chihoon’s exclusive contract has been terminated and he has left the team.”

The label did not specify the reason for Chihoon’s departure, only revealing that he had to leave “due to an issue that rendered it necessary to terminate his exclusive contract.”

He was the main rapper of the originally 10-member boy band.

TO1 debuted in 2020 with an EP “Reason for Being: Benevolence.” The band was formed by Mnet’s reality program “To Be World Klass” in 2019. The remaining members are Donggeon, Chan, Jisu, Minsu, Jaeyun, J.You, Kyungho, Jerome and Woonggi.
