Girl group Kep1er’s debut track “Wa Da Da” (2022) was streamed over 100 million times on Spotify, agencies Wakeone Entertainment and Swing Entertainment said Friday.

This follows a string of other accomplishments, as “Wa Da Da” also entered global music charts within two weeks of its debut, such as Spotify’s Global Top 200 chart and Billboard’s World Digital Songs Sales chart, Global Excl. U.S. chart and Hot Trending Songs chart.

Last April, the music video surpassed 100 million views on YouTube and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of Japan. It achieved the status faster than any other debut song from a K-pop girl group.

Kep1er’s debut EP “First Impact” also set the record as the best selling album of a rookie girl group, with some 200,000 copies sold in the first week of the album's release.

Kep1er debuted in January after being formed last summer through Mnet’s multinational idol audition show “Girls Planet 999.” The group consists of nine members: Yujin, Chaehyun, Dayeon, Youngeun and Yeseo who are Korean, Xiaoting who is Chinese, Mashiro and Hikaru who are Japanese and Huening Bahiyyih who is Korean-American.
