Actor lineup announced for upcoming tvN drama series 'Lady'

Actors E Ji-ah, Lee Sang-yoon, Jang Hee-jin, Park Ki-woong and Bong Tae-gyu will star in upcoming tvN drama series “Lady” (translated), in which popular writer Kim Soon-ok is participating as a creator of the show.

The cast is reported to have started shooting. The narrative revolves around a woman who has to become the country's first lady in order to protect her family.

Director Choi Young-hoon of SBS drama series “One the Woman” (2021) and “Good Casting” (2020) and writer Hyun Ji-min, a member of Kim’s team of writers, will together take helm of the series. Kim will participate as a creator and oversee the scriptwriting process and flow of the narrative.

Kim is behind popular hits such as SBS’s “The Penthouse” (2020-21), “The Last Empress” (2018) and “Temptation of a Wife” (2008-09). Her specialty lies in makjang storylines, a genre with narratives that are so suspenseful and immoral that they are considered ridiculous.

E Ji-ah will portray the main protagonist Hong Tae-ra, a woman who seems to have everything — a loving family of three with her husband and daughter — but she has no memory of her past. When she begins to remember, her perfect life shatters and she is swept into a swirl of chaos, struggling for survival and revenge.

Lee Sang-yoon portrays Tae-ra’s husband, the ingenious entrepreneur Pyo Jae-hyun who becomes a presidential candidate.

The series will air sometime next year.
