BTS's J-Hope donates 100 million won to help victims of deadly floods
J-Hope of BTS donated 100 million won ($76,770) to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association to help victims impacted by the heavy rains that hit the central regions of the Korean Peninsula last week.
The organization announced the news on Thursday.
With the donation, J-Hope joins the Hope Bridge Honors Club, which appoints members whose accumulated donations surpass 100 million won. Earlier this March, J-Hope's bandmate Suga donated 100 million won to the organization to help victims of massive wildfires which raged along the country’s eastern coastal area.
BTS members have recently started to focus on their solo careers. J-Hope released his first solo album “Jack In The Box” last month and became the first Korean artist to perform on the main stage of Lollapalooza, an annual four-day music festival held in Chicago’s Grand Park, last month.
