Blackpink's 'Pink Venom' has most Spotify streams from United States

Blackpink's new single "Pink Venom" has the most Spotify streams from listeners in the United States, according to YG Entertainment on Wednesday. 
 
YG Entertainment studied the streaming data of "Pink Venom" on Spotify from Aug. 19 to 21 and counted 3,184,510
streams in the United States. This accounts for about 11.9 percent of the total number of streams of the song on the platform which was 24,304,240.
 
"The numbers show Blackpink's share in the mainstream pop industry," said YG Entertainment.
 
“Pink Venom” topped Spotify’s Global Top Songs chart for three days in a row, from Aug. 21 to 23, a first for a K-pop artist. The song dropped to No. 2  on Aug. 24. 
 
“Pink Venom,” a track from Blackpink’s upcoming second full-length album “Born Pink,” dropped on Aug. 19. Upon release, it topped the iTunes Top Songs chart in 74 nations including the United States and Britain.
 
The group's full-length album "Born Pink" is set for release on Sept. 16 
 
The girl group will embark on its “Born Pink” world tour to promote the new album from Oct. 15 through 2023. 
 
Blackpink debuted in August 2016 with the EP "Square One" and quickly became one of the county's top K-pop acts, releasing hit dance numbers every year including “Boombayah” (2016), “Playing with Fire” (2016), “As If It's Your Last” (2017), “Forever Young” (2018), “Kill This Love” (2019), “How You Like That" (2020) and “Lovesick Girls” (2020).
