Coupang denied the report that it will sell off its food delivery service Coupang Eats on Tuesday, vowing to take legal actions against rumor mongers.

The response came after the local press reported that the e-commerce player plans to sell the app service and that interested suitors include major retail groups like Lotte, Shinsegae and GS.

The reports cited a fall in the number of users as a reason for the selling.

“Some media outlets reported the sale of Coupang Eats, but that is groundless,” Coupang said in a statement. “Coupang never made any action regarding its sale.”

It vowed to take legal actions against the spreading of false rumors to the press and industry.
