Seulgi of girl group Red Velvet will be showcasing her first self-written song on her upcoming debut solo EP, according to SM Entertainment on Tuesday.

She wrote the lyrics to the track "Dead Man Runnin," an R&B pop and dance song with energetic drum sounds and deep base that amplifies Seulgi's powerful vocals.

Seulgi's lyrics to the song vividly portray her anxiety and emptiness that she sometimes felt when people hurt her in the past, said her agency.

Seulgi's first solo EP “28 Reasons” will be released on Oct. 4 at 6 p.m.

One hour before the release, Seulgi will hold a live broadcast titled "Seulgi '28 Reasons' Countdown Live" on YouTube and TikTok to communicate with her fans around the world.

"28 Reasons" will consist of six songs including the title track “28 Reasons.” The EP will be available for pre-order from Tuesday.

Seulgi debuted as a member of girl group Red Velvet in 2014, along with Irene, Wendy, Joy and Yeri. The group is best known for hits such as “Ice Cream Cake” (2015), “Russian Roulette” (2016), “Red Flavor” (2017), “Power Up” (2018) and “Queendom” (2021).

Seulgi is also part of Red Velvet's subunit Irene & Seulgi. The duo released an EP titled "Monster" in 2020. Upon release, "Monster" reached No. 1 on the iTunes Top Albums Chart in 45 regions around the world.
