Actor Kim Seon-ho may soon return to the small screen in a new drama series.

JTBC reported the news on Wednesday, quoting an industry insider who said that Kim’s next drama series is “Haesi’s Shinru.” The drama’s production company Studio & New said that it is “positively discussing Kim’s appearance in the drama series.” Kim’s agency Salt Entertainment said it is “still in talks.”

“Haesi’s Shinru” is a historical romance drama that takes place during King Sejong’s reign (1418-50). The drama follows the story of crown prince Yi Hyang who loved to study science and watch the stars at night, and a mysterious girl who could see the future. The drama is based on the web novel of the same title, written by Yoon Yi-su. Yoon will write the screenplay for the upcoming drama series. Yoon is the writer of “Love in the Moonlight,” which was turned into a hit drama series of the same title starring Park Bo-gum in 2016.

Kim is in talks to take on the lead role — crown prince Yi Hyang. It will be Kim’s first drama since “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” (2021). Kim, who was more popular as a stage actor rose to stardom through “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” last year, but has remained out of the public eye after being accused of pressuring his ex-girlfriend to have an abortion.

Kim was fired from most advertisements and television shows, but later on, his acquaintances stepped in to provide evidence to prove the allegations were untrue. He debuted as a theater actor in 2009 in "New Boeing Boeing." In July, Kim made a return to the theater stage through the play “Touching the Void.”
