J.Y. Park to release new single 'Groove Missing' next week
Singer and producer Park Jin-young, who is also known by his stage name J.Y. Park, is set to release a new single titled "Groove Missing," next week, according to his agency JYP Entertainment on Monday.
"Groove Missing" is a dance song featuring Dynamic Duo member and rapper Gaeko. It was originally a few-second-long TikTok song that Park released early last month for his "Groove Back" challenge, but it evolved into a full-length song after many people expressed their love for the music, the agency said in a statement.
Celebrities such as Shindong of boy band Super Junior and singer Sunmi, as well as people from around the world including Spain, the United States, Thailand and Brazil took part in Park's "Groove Back" dance challenge.
"Groove Missing" is Park's first new music in two years and three months. His last song was a duet with Sunmi titled "When We Disco."
"Groove Missing" will be released on Nov. 21 but the music video will be released three days prior, according to the agency.
Park will also hold a four-day concert from Dec. 22, for the first time in three years. His last concert "NO.1 X 50" was held in Olympic Hall in Songpa District, southern Seoul. The venue for the upcoming concert has not been disclosed.
