The Doosan Bears have signed former minor league pitcher Dylan File on a one-year deal worth up to $650,000.

The 26-year-old will earn $550,000 in guaranteed salary with $100,000 in incentives.

File joins the Doosan Bears after an up-and-down minor league career with the Milwaukee Brewers organization hampered by injuries over the last two years.

File had originally entered the 2015 MLB Rookie Draft but was unselected, opting instead to attend university before being selected by the Brewers two years later in the 2017 Rookie Draft.

He spent a year and a half on the Brewers’ 40-man roster but never made a major league appearance. He was released by the club at the end of the 2022 season.

File made 26 appearances with the Brewers this season, picking up eight wins and six losses for a 4.57 ERA. His career minor league ERA is 4.04 with 34 wins and 29 losses.

“Dylan File is a complete starting pitcher with stable pitching and control,” the Bears said in a statement. “He has three solid breaking balls and a reliable fastball.

"Although he has no major league experience, he is a proven inning-eater with a career strikeout-to-walk ratio at 3.78. We’re looking forward to seeing what he can do as a starting pitcher."
