Boy band Stray Kids to perform at Tokyo Dome as part of Japan tour

Boy band Stray Kids will tour around Japan's biggest music venues starting August, its agency JYP Entertainment said Tuesday.

In a tour titled "Stray Kids 5-STAR Dome Tour 2023," the band will hold eight solo concerts in four Japanese domes, which are the largest concert venues in the country.

Stray Kids will start on Aug. 16 and 17 at the Fukuoka PayPay Dome, followed by concerts at the Vantelin Dome Nagoya on Sept. 2 and 3, Kyocera Dome Osaka on Sept. 9 and 10 and finish at the Tokyo Dome with concerts on Oct. 28 and 29.

The tour comes only six months after the band held four concerts in Japan last February as an encore performance to its "Maniac" second world tour series that took place last year.

The band will also perform in Seoul's KSPO Dome on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 for a "special concert," according to the agency.

"This makes Stray Kids the first fourth-generation boy band to perform in four of Japan's largest domes," JYP Entertainment said in a press release.

Stray Kids has been seeing major success in Japan with its latest third full-length album, "★★★★★ (5-STAR)," released on June 2, topping major music charts in Japan, including Oricon's Weekly Digital Album Ranking, Tower Records' Daily Sales chart and Billboard Japan's Download Album chart.

"★★★★★ (5-STAR)" sold 4,617,499 copies during the first week of its release, the highest ever in the history of Korean pop music.
