ZeroBaseOne makes million-seller debut

Boy band ZeroBaseOne [WAKEONE]

Rookie boy band ZeroBaseOne sold 1.82 million copies of its debut album, making it the highest-selling debut album by a K-pop act in its first week of release.

It also makes ZeroBaseOne the first K-pop band to have its debut album achieve million-seller status. The previous debut album sales record was set by Mnet’s former project boy band, X1, which sold 524,000 copies of its debut album “Emergency: Quantum Leap” in 2019.

Individual tracks in the album are also seeing noticeable results, with all six of the EP's tracks, including lead track “In Bloom,” landing high on Melon, Genie, Bugs and other Korean music streaming charts.

“In Bloom” also surpassed 3.55 million total streams on Spotify, a significant result for a rookie boy band.

ZeroBaseOne — also stylized as ZB1 — is a project group formed through cable network Mnet's audition program, "Boys Planet." The group consists of nine members, Zhang Hao, Sung Han-bin, Seok Matthew, Ricky, Park Gun-wook, Kim Tae-rae, Kim Gyu-vin, Kim Ji-woong and Han Yu-jin.

Each of the members was a contestant under different K-pop agencies when they appeared on the show. ZeroBaseOne will be managed by WakeOne until January 2026 as a project group, when the members will return to their respective management companies.
