Blackpink became the first artist in the world to record more than 90 million subscribers on its YouTube channel, the girl group’s agency YG Entertainment said Monday.

Blackpink’s official YouTube channel ticked over 90 million subscribers as of 5:36 a.m. on Monday, seven years and one month after the channel was first launched on June 28, 2016.

Of the 90-million-plus subscribers, the channel saw 7 million new subscribers between Oct. last year and June this year as the girl group embarked on its second world tour, “Born Pink,” and member Jisoo debuted her first solo release, “Flower."

Blackpink’s channel was the first artist channel outside the United States, Great Britain and Canada to take fifth place on the list of most subscribed channels in July 2022. Since then, the channel has overtaken Ariana Grande, Eminem, Ed Sheeran, Marshmello and Justin Bieber’s official YouTube channels to have the most subscribers worldwide.

Blackpink’s total YouTube view count surpassed 32.2 billion views, with the music video for “Ddu-du Ddu-du” (2018) reaching close to 2.1 billion views on YouTube, a first for any K-pop act.
