New DoubleTree by Hilton Yeosu to open in 2026

Hilton on Monday signed a management agreement with Urban Bluewings Co., Ltd., solidifying a collaboration on the upcoming DoubleTree by Hilton Yeosu hotel. 
 
The hotel is slated to open in 2026 and will be situated in Yeosu, which is the second-largest city in South Jeolla.
 
“We are pleased to partner with Urban Bluewings Co., Ltd. on our second DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Korea, one of the most highly sought-after leisure destinations for intra-Asian travel,” said Guy Phillips, Hilton's senior vice president of development for APAC ex Greater China. “The scenic city of Yeosu is a famed gateway to nearby islands, and, when open, DoubleTree by Hilton Yeosu stands ready to serve the millions of leisure and business travelers drawn here every year.”
 
DoubleTree by Hilton Yeosu will feature 179 rooms, encompassing a range of standard rooms, suites and a presidential suite to accommodate the needs of business and leisure travelers alike. The hotel will offer diverse dining options including an all-day restaurant, a specialty restaurant and a café and bar lounge. More than 370 square meters of versatile event space will cater to corporate meetings and social gatherings, while guests will enjoy an array of wellness-focused amenities including an executive lounge, a fitness center, a spa, a rooftop outdoor pool and a Korean bathhouse.
 
“2023 is a milestone year for Hilton, as we celebrate the 40th anniversary of our trading presence in Korea,” said Timothy Soper, Hilton's area vice president and head of Japan, Korea & Micronesia. “We first introduced our rapidly growing DoubleTree by Hilton brand to this market in the Pangyo district just south of Seoul, and we now look forward to welcoming guests in beautiful Yeosu with our signature hospitality and warm DoubleTree chocolate chip cookie.”

DoubleTree by Hilton Yeosu’s proximity to the Gwangyang Port, Korea’s largest import-export port, as well as the National Industrial Complex, which covers around 49 percent of the country’s petrochemical production capacity. The hotel is also located near popular tourist attractions such as Hallyeohaesang National Park, Geumodo Island, Manseongri Beach, Arte Museum Ocean and Yeosu Maritime Cable Car, among others. 
 
DoubleTree by Hilton Yeosu is proximate to transportation hubs such as Yeosu Airport and Yeosu Expo Station, which are located 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) and 14 kilometers away respectively. The city itself is easily accessible from Seoul in three hours by highway or rail and from Gimpo, Gyeonggi and Jeju by a one-hour flight.
