The Seoul Emergency Operations Center's system broke down for an hour on Monday morning due to an error caused by a failure of KT's telecommunication network.

The system is used to navigate first responders to the scene of the emergency.

The system's breakdown prompted emergency personnel to rely on mobile phones to get to the scenes.

According to the Seoul Metropolitan Fire & Disaster Headquarters on Monday, one of the disrupted services included the Mobile Data Terminal, which locates the person who made the emergency call for the first responders.

The system failure affected 25 fire stations in Seoul.

The system was fully restored around 10 a.m.
