Japanese girl group XG to kick off first world tour in May

Girl group XG will hold its first world tour, “The first HOWL,” in May.

The tour was announced on Monday, XG’s second anniversary date.

“The first HOWL” will begin with performances in Osaka, Japan on May 18 and 19 and in Yokohama on May 25 and 26.

The group will also perform in Bangkok, Thailand; Seoul; Kuala Lumpur; Singapore; Manila, the Philippines; and Taipei, Taiwan, as well as additional regions in Asia. Dates for those concerts are still to be announced.

XG will also perform in various North American cities in October and in Europe in November.

“The first HOWL” refers to XG’s first ‘howl’ into the world, according to the group’s agency, XGALX.

XG debuted in 2022. It includes seven members: Jurin, Chisa, Hinata, Maya, Juria, Cocona and Harvey. The members are all Japanese, and their tracks are sung in English.

XG dropped its first EP, “New DNA,” on Sept. 27, 2023, followed by digital single “Winter Without You” on Dec. 8 of the same year.
