Yook Sung-jae of boy band BTOB will release his new album on May 9, his first solo project in four years.

Yook's agency, iWILL Media, did not disclose details about the album on Wednesday, other than that it will "show his wide range of musical spectrum that's not confined to one specific genre."

"Yook Sung-jae will flaunt a side of himself he never showed before and give back all the love that he's received from fans," the agency said in a press release.

The album will be Yook’s first music release under iWILL Media after he departed from Cube Entertainment in December following the end of his contract. It is also Yook’s first solo music in around four years since he dropped his EP “Yook O’Clock” in March 2020.

Yook debuted as a member of BTOB in 2012. The band is best known for "Missing You" (2017), "Only One for Me" (2018) and "Beautiful Pain" (2018).

He started his acting career with "Reply 1994" (2013), playing a supporting role. He is known for his roles in the drama series “Who Are You: School 2015” (2015), “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God” (2016-2017) and “Mystic Pop-up Bar” (2020).

He is also set to star as an actor in a work that will be shown in the latter half of the year, according to the agency. His last acting role was as the lead in the MBC drama “Golden Spoon” (2022).
