The donation will be used to cover treatment for injured firefighters, scholarships for the children of firefighters who have died in the line of duty and monetary awards for heroic firefighters.

Since S-Oil signed the Hero Firefighter Campaign agreement with the NFA in 2006, it has delivered some 10 billion won to about 3,000 firefighters and their families.

In recognition of conducting various support programs for firefighters and their families, S-Oil CEO Anwar Al-Hejazi was appointed as an Honorary Firefighter.

“S-Oil will always remember firefighters’ sacrifice and courage for society and feel proud of them,” Al-Hejazi said. “We’ll keep supporting and rooting for fighters who rescue citizens in peril despite tough working conditions and invest actively in securing the safety of firefighting and hazardous substance facilities."
