Self-driving cars put to the test with pilot run
Self-driving cars are parked at a pilot zone for autonomous vehicles in Mapo District, western Seoul, on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport temporarily approved the operation of cars attached with an auto-driving system from the Korean startup RideFlux. This will allow passengers to take autonomous cars without the need for safety managers or a driver behind the wheels on regular roads. Autonomous cars could hit the road from October at the earliest.
