"Hi everyone, it's Sonny here. I was nominated to participate in the 'pass for home' challenge by Lee Keun-ho to help rise awareness for 2024 Seoul Homeless World Cup. So please pass the ball of hope to those dreaming of new beginnings across the world," Son said, wearing a purple Spurs T-shirt.
 
 
He nominated Korea teammate and fellow Premier League footballer Hwang to take up the video challenge next.
 
"I ask Hwang Hee-chan to accept my pass of hope and join the 'pass for home' challenge," Son said, before kicking a ball toward the camera.
 
Lee, who picked Son for the video challenge, was tapped to lead the local organizing committee as its chairman earlier this month. A former Korean national team and K League 1 forward, Lee played alongside Son during the 2015 AFC Asian Cup, where Korea finished as runners-up.
 
'Pass for home' challenge videos can be found on the Homeless World Cup website, according to a Friday press release.
 
The Homeless World Cup will take place at Hanyang University in eastern Seoul from September 21 to 28. It is the first time the tournament will be hosted by an Asian country.
