A total of 1,500 workers from eight businesses unionized under the Gwangju branch of the Korean Metal Workers' Union went on strike on Thursday over amendments to the Trade Union and Labor Relations Adjustment Act. This included two businesses that supply parts to Kia's AutoLand Gwangju, resulting in disruptions at two out of three of the plant's production lines.
