Flying Spur lands as Bentley's quickest sedan is quickest to Korea

Bentley’s new Flying Spur, the fastest and most powerful four-door sedan on its books, has landed in Korea more quickly than in any other country on the planet.

The ultraluxury saloon combines with a four-liter, eight-cylinder turbocharged engine and a 25.9-kilowatt-hour electric motor manufactured by Samsung SDI, which can run up to 76 kilometers (47 miles) solely on electricity.

“We decided to bring the new Flying Spur to Korea quicker than anywhere in the world as Korea is a very important market for Bentley, especially for this specific model," said Christian Schlick, executive director at Bentley Motors Korea at a media event in Dongdaemun District, eastern Seoul, on Wednesday.

Korea was the third-largest market for the Flying Spur last year, behind only China and the United States, with a total of 349 units sold.

The four-door sedan is also the quickest car in the British marque’s 105-year history as it can accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in only 3.5 seconds.

It generates up to 782 horsepower and 102.05 kilogram-meters (738 pound-feet) of torque, making it the most powerful sedan ever for the British brand.

The exterior remains similar to its predecessor, with a bold and muscular appearance but with a new front bumper and an updated grille.

The sedan also has an Active Chassis, which can detect the road ahead and adjust the handling for an optimized performance.

The price has not been disclosed, but Bentley is accepting orders.
