Pledis Entertainment inks deal on promotional content with Jeju

Boy band Seventeen's agency, Pledis Entertainment, and the Jeju provincial government on Friday signed a deal to co-produce promotional content for the Korean island.
 
The two parties signed a memorandum of understanding at HYBE's headquarters in Yongsan, central Seoul, on Friday morning. The ceremony was attended by Gov. Oh Young-hun of Jeju Province and Lee Da-hae, CEO of the HYBE subsidiary Pledis Entertainment, along with other officials.

The two parties will cooperate on the creation of K-pop and entertainment content related to Jeju Island and also expand K-pop events on the southern island as part of the deal. Details such as which artist will feature in which content or what types of events will be held on the island were not disclosed on Friday.
 
"We are pleased to cooperate with Jeju Island in our efforts to boost K-pop content," Pledis Entertainment said in a press release. "We hope this deal brings out a win-win for both parties as we get to spread K-pop content to the tourists of Jeju Island and K-pop fans get to learn more about the hot spots and culture of Jeju Island."
 
"We expect this deal will serve as a landmark for the culture and tourism of Jeju by providing an efficient inbound tourism strategy for not only domestic but also overseas tourists," Gov. Oh said. "We will maintain a close partnership between Pledis Entertainment and Jeju in order to heighten both our brand values."
 
Pledis Entertainment is home to boy bands Seventeen and TWS, girl group fromis_9, singers Baekho and Hwang Min-hyun and music producer Bumzu. Seventeen member Boo Seung-kwan was born in Jeju Island.
