Hotel rewards program Marriott Bonvoy teamed up with the BMW Ladies Championship 2024 teeing off on Thursday at Seowon Valley Country Club in Paju, Gyeonggi.
As a sponsor of the LPGA event, Bonvoy operates a booth where visitors can participate in games and raffles to win overnight vouchers at a Marriott property and limited golf-inspired items. Bonvoy members also have access to the event's VIP lounge with catering and terrace views.
Under its Moments program, which offers members a chance to partake in high-profile cultural events, a select few who had won in a points bidding war were offered passes to the games and access to VIP lounges run by Marriott and BMW.
Marriott Bonvoy Moments' previous collaborations include the AMG Mercedes team, the NFL, Manchester United and Taylor Swift. In Korea last month, it hosted a golf lesson with professional golfer Doug Koh at JW Marriott Jeju Resort & Spa.
As Korea grows into a popular cultural hub, Marriott plans to expand the Moments program further in the country.
“For our members, we strive to grant them not only quality stays but also invaluable experiences,” Iny Hwang, Area Director of Marketing in South Korea, Vietnam and the Philippines, told the press in Paju on Thursday. "Korea has a dedicated bracket of Bonvoy members, and we've seen enthusiastic responses to our September event. And off the back of that success, we are hoping to do more in the future."
Marriott Bonvoy had 203 million members worldwide as of June 2024 and 2.6 million members in Korea, according to Marriott International.
Marriott International is the largest hotel group in the world, with over 8,700 properties. It has 36 hotels in Korea, most recently opening AC Marriott by Geumjeong in Gunpo, Gyeonggi, and The Link Seoul, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Guro District, northern Seoul. By the end of 2025, it plans to open two additional hotels—Courtyard by Marriott in Gyeonggi and Westin Seoul Parnas in southern Seoul.
