Hwang Jung-eum lands lead role

테스트

Newlywed actress Hwang Jung-eum has been cast in a new MBC TV drama.

The production company announced on Tuesday that Hwang landed the lead role, with her male counterpart yet to be decided.

The drama is a remake of the webtoon titled “Lucky Romance.” It centers on the romantic story between Sim Bo-nui, who has blind faith in superstitions, and the engineering student Je Soo-ho.

The drama will start airing in May.

Previously, Hwang won the “Top Excellence Award” from MBC for her roles in the drama series “Kill Me Heal Me” and “She Was Pretty” in 2015.

The actress debuted as a member of K-pop girl group Sugar in 2002. Since the group’s breakup, Hwang committed herself to acting and has appeared in many shows and dramas, most notably the MBC sitcom “High Kick” (2009-10). Last month she married former professional golfer Lee Young-don.
