T-ara vows free gigs if sales of debut Japanese album take off

Girl group T-ara will stage a pair of free concerts if sales of their first Japanese album hit 500,000, the group’s agency said on Saturday.
According to Core Contents Media, T-ara will put on two so-called “guerilla gigs” — one in downtown Seoul and another in central Tokyo — if “Jewelry Box,” which will be released on June 6, hits the target.
The new album, which includes hits such as “Bo Peep Bo Peep,” “Ya Ya Ya” and “Roly Poly” as well as yet-to-be-released songs, looks destined to be successful if preorders are any indication.
It ranks as the No. 1 preordered album on Tower Records’ Web site, while an alternative version of the album is No. 3. T-ara is currently in Japan doing promotional work.
The seven-member K-pop outfit is scheduled to hold a concert there in June and is also preparing to establish its first official fan club in Korea on July 14.
The group will release its next album in Korea this summer. A title has not yet been decided on.
