Actresses heading to Eastern Europe

Four veteran actresses are heading on a trip to Eastern Europe, in a gender reversal of one of the most popular entertainment shows this year.

Producer Na Young-suk, who created the hit “Grandpas Over Flowers” for cable channel tvN, said that the female version of the series is heading to Croatia, and that her cast will be Lee Mi-yeon, Kim Ja-ok, Kim Hee-ae and Yoon Yeo-jung.

They will be accompanied by the younger actor Lee Seung-gi, who takes the role that Lee Seo-jin had on “Grandpas” as a general helper for the four leads.

“I have wanted to introduce some scenes of Eastern Europe, which is different from Western Europe, where we went for the first trip for ‘Grandpas Over Flowers,’?” said producer Na.

“As the destination is not yet widely known in Korea, it is very exotic and is a perfect choice for a romantic trip for actresses.”

While the exact travel date has not been set yet, the show is reportedly scheduled to air late next month.

Meanwhile, the original “Grandpas” with its veteran actors is slated to broadcast its third season in January.
