Five of seven members of boy band Enhypen test positive for Covid
Five of the seven members of boy band Enhypen tested positive for the coronavirus, their agency Belift Lab reported on Thursday through the fan community app Weverse.
“Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake and Sunghoon tested positive for Covid-19 during their quarantine,” the agency said.
According to the agency, the members voluntarily went into quarantine from Aug. 26 after one of the crew on the set of a shoot tested positive for the virus.
Jake tested positive on Aug. 30 after showing symptoms of a cough and fever.
Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay and Sunghoon reported similar symptoms and tested positive for the virus.
“The diagnosed members are to receive treatment in designated facilities,” the agency said. “Currently the degree of their symptoms are mild.”
The agency assured the public that the possibility of the virus spreading further among those that were exposed remains low as rest of the workers on the set tested negative for the virus and are now in quarantine.
“We’re sorry to have caused trouble to the fans for failing to prevent the spread of the virus,” the agency said.
Last month, the agency announced that the band is preparing to release a new album by the end of September. Although the agency did not specify in the statement, the band’s return to the music industry is expected to be delayed.
