BTS failed to win the Best International Group yet again at this year’s 2022 BRIT Awards, which was held at London’s O2 Arena on Feb. 8 and aired live on YouTube.

The K-pop boy band was nominated at the high-profile music awards for a second consecutive year and competed against other nominees like ABBA, Maneskin, Silk Sonic, and The War on Drugs. The Best International Group award went to Silk Sonic.

The BTS members have been on a break since returning home from their United States tour last December so did not attend the awards ceremony in London, according to Big Hit Music.

BTS was the first Korean act to ever be nominated at the BRIT Awards. After the boy band failed to win the award last year, fans anticipated this would be its year, especially with BTS’s latest hits like “Butter” and the success of its collaboration with Coldplay on the song “My Universe.”

Adele was in the spotlight on the evening of the ceremony, taking home three trophies — Album of the Year, British Artist of the Year and Best British Song for “Easy on Me.”

This year's Brit Awards went through a special transformation, making its categories gender-neutral for the first time.
