Boy band Treasure’s new EP tops iTunes charts in 30 regions

Treasure’s new EP topped iTunes charts in 30 regions, according to the boy band’s agency YG Entertainment on Wednesday.  
 
“The Second Step: Chapter One” which dropped Tuesday evening, came in No. 1 on the iTunes Albums charts of countries including Canada, Japan, Australia, India, Mexico and Russia.  
 
The EP landed at No. 4 in the United States.  
 
“The album sales of Treasure’s newest EP show that the band's popularity has expanded beyond Asia as the United States took up about 20 percent of the sales as of Wednesday,” said an official from YG Entertainment.  
 
The EP’s title track “Jikjin” topped local music streaming charts as well, recording No. 1 on Bugs music chart.  
 
The band’s music video which was also released Tuesday had over 10 million views on YouTube as of Wednesday afternoon.  
 
Treasure debuted in August 2020 with the song “Boy.” The band was formed through audition show “YG Treasure Box,” which was broadcast by JTBC in 2019. The band consists of twelve members: Choi Hyun-suk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Mashiho, Yoon Jae-hyuk, Asahi, Bang Yedam, Haruto, Doyoung, Park Jeong-woo and So Jung-hwan.
