Park Cho-rong of girl group Apink dropped her lawsuit against a former schoolmate who falsely accused her of bullying.
“Park and Ms. A [anonymous] decided to resolve their misunderstandings and drop all lawsuits they have filed against each other,” Park’s agency IST Entertainment said. “They are currently going through the legal process of dropping their lawsuits.”
In early 2021, the schoolmate wrote on an online community that Park bullied her during their school years.
Park sued the accuser for defamation and intimidation, then the schoolmate filed a countersuit in April 2021. Park was cleared after eight months of investigation by the Seoul Gangnam Police Station did not result in enough evidence to prove that Park had falsely accused her schoolmate of spreading misinformation.
According to IST Entertainment, the two women recently met to listen to each other’s story.
“They met for the first time in 13 years and talked honestly about the conflicts they’ve had,” the agency said. “After a deep conversation, they resolved their misunderstandings and decided to put all the fights behind them. […] They decided to go back to their everyday lives. We apologize to those we caused concern to, and we thank everyone who has cared about [this incident].”
