Oh My Girl member YooA will temporarily halt all activities due to the after-effects of Covid-19, said WM Entertainment on Tuesday.
"YooA has been experiencing after-effects of Covid-19 and has expressed that she is having difficulty carrying on the current activities of the girl group," said the agency. "YooA is now resting."
"We apologize for the worry we may have caused to fans with this sudden announcement."
The agency did not specifically outline what symptoms YooA is experiencing.
Ahead of the news, YooA had missed an appearance on a KBS radio show on Tuesday afternoon. Member Hyojung cited YooA's health issues as the reason for her absence.
YooA tested positive for Covid-19 on March 6. She has received two doses of a vaccine, according to her agency.
Oh My Girl released its second full-length album "Real Love" on March 28 and is currently in the middle of its promotional activities.
Oh My Girl debuted in 2015 with the song “Cupid,” initially as a team of eight before member JinE left in 2017. The group released songs “Closer” (2015), “Liar Liar” (2016), “Windy Day” (2016), “Secret Garden” (2018), “Remember Me” (2018), “SSFWL” (2019) and “Bungee (Fall In Love)” (2019). In 2018, members Arin, Yubin and Hyojung formed subunit Oh My Girl Banhana to drop the comical song “Banana Allergy Monkey.”
YooA also released the solo EP “Bon Voyage” (2020).
Oh My Girl consists of seven members: Hyojung, Mimi, YooA, Seunghee, Jiho, Yubin, and Arin.
