Boy band Seventeen member Wonwoo’s mother has passed away, his label Pledis Entertainment announced Wednesday.
Wonwoo’s mother had been suffering from an illness for many years, the label said.
Pledis said Wonwoo will halt all his activities to attend the funeral of his mother. It asked his fans not to visit the funeral parlor as it will only be open to family and close friends so that “Wonwoo can have a proper period of mourning with his family.”
Meanwhile, Seventeen is gearing up to release a digital single on April 15. The band will release various concept photographs to give a glimpse of what the upcoming song will be like from Thursday.
The new digital single will be included on Seventeen’s fourth regular album, which will be released next month.
Seventeen debuted in 2015 with the EP "17 Carat." Seventeen is a 13-member multinational boy band best known for "Adore U" (2015), "Don't Wanna Cry" (2017) and "Ready to Love" (2021). It consists of members S.coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Vernon, Woozi, Jeonghan, Joshua, DK, Seungkwan, Hoshi, Jun, The8 and Dino.
