Star of drama "Thirty-Nine" Kim Ji-hyun has been cast in season two of hit Netflix Korea series “D.P.” according to the video streaming platform on Tuesday.
Kim will portray a lieutenant colonel named Seo-eun. As the operational director of the Defense Ministry's prosecution team, Kim is expected to play an important role in the plot.
Kim debuted as an actor in live theater. She subsequently made her film debut in 2006 with "Solace" and made her mark on the small screen through JTBC series "Thirty-Nine" (2022) and "Artificial City" (2021).
Based on the webtoon “D.P: Dog Days” by Kim Bo-tong, the series tells the story of the deserter pursuit team in the Korean military. The team’s mission is to track down soldiers who have deserted their bases. Season 1 starred actors Jung Hae-in, Koo Kyo-hwan, Kim Sung-kyun and Son Suk-ku.
Late last year, “D.P.” was selected as one of the “Best TV Shows of 2021” by The New York Times.
