Luxury French champagne house Taittinger in France [JW MARRIOTT HOTEL SEOUL]

JW Marriott Hotel Seoul

On July 26: The Margaux Grill, the luxury grill dining destination at JW Marriott Hotel Seoul, in Seocho District, southern Seoul, presents a special champagne dinner created in collaboration with iconic luxury French champagne house Taittinger. Served for one day only on July 26, the epicurean dinner features a special menu curated by The Margaux Grill’s culinary team, paired with five varieties of Taittinger champagne. Produced exclusively in France’s Champagne region, Taittinger is a family-run champagne house with a rich history and reputation dating from 1932. Today, it is a high-quality champagne producer with some 5.5 million bottles consumed annually in 150 countries worldwide. This July’s dinner promises to be an exceptional event, attended by Pierre Taittinger, a member of the company's fourth generation of family operation, and by Clovis Taittinger, the house’s fifth owner, visiting Korea for the first time in five years to mingle with dinner guests and share unique insights into the art of champagne making.

The five Taittinger champagne varieties served with the special dinner are Taittinger, Reserve Brut, defined by subtle flower and fruit aromas, a vibrant texture, and creamy bubbles, and paired with amuse-bouches; Taittinger Vintage Brut 2015, boasting intense aromas of sweet fruit and hazelnut blended with elegant floral fragrances that fill the mouth, is served with the appetizer course. The entrée is accompanied by Taittinger Comte de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2011, celebrated as one of Taittinger’s finest champagnes for its refined and complex aromas, while the main course of grilled tenderloin is paired with Taittinger Prestige Rosé Brut, boasting abundant fresh and lively notes of red fruit. Finally, courses of grilled cheese and dessert are accompanied by Taittinger Nocturne City Lights, defined by a masterful balance of fragrant white floral notes and ripened fruit.

The six-course dinner begins with amuse-bouches of Caviar and Chocolate Hazelnut Emulsion, premium Osetra caviar served with soft chocolate hazelnut mousse crafted by The Margaux Grill’s own chefs; Mushroom Croquettes, deep-fried until crispy and topped with black truffle; and Hanwoo Beef Tartare. An appetizer of Croaker Ceviche, made from croaker fish, one of Korea’s best-loved summer tonic delicacies, follows. The entrée is of Grilled Monkfish, with plump, tender fish wrapped in prosciutto, followed by a main course of super-prime Grilled Tenderloin, boasting unmatched texture and flavor. The final course is a dessert of The Margaux Grill Special Sweets, including Brie with grilled banana and macadamia nuts, and other delicacies crafted by the hotel pastry team. The result is an unforgettable gourmet journey perfect for pairing with the aromas of luxury champagne.

The Taittinger Champagne Dinner is served from 6:30 to 10 p.m on July 26, with an introduction to Taittinger and its diverse champagnes offered by owner Clovis Taittinger from 6:30 to 7 p.m, an event unmissable for wine lovers. The dinner is priced at 500,000 won ($380) per person including tax and service charges.
